Hi guys,

got a big(ish) industrial job installing lighting and we have had a lighting spec and plans of the building but need to come up with a electrical design for the lads on site for methods of installaion and position of fittings any ideas on software to do this?

Thanks Jamie

ÂŁ4k...?.....No Auto Cad 2015 LT is approx ÂŁ800, and will allow companies to email you construction drawings when tendering. And submit final drawings when completed.

Really? So can you do a non-intrusive survey with rough measurements and produce drawings for that price?

What do you think Autocad is for? It doesn’t design it for you. If the OP does much in the way of commercial work I can’t see how he can escape using it.

i know, tony. i blame the government. there's so much crap about how you'll die a horrible death on smoke packets, there's nowhere left to do a decent design.

the reason its so expensive is the cost keeps going up because more and more people pirate it.

autocad software is good stuff but a lot of people struggle with it.

there are many different versions of it (i mainly used 3ds max though rather than autocad)

Blown blade type fuses aren't always obvious. Swapping identical ones over is often the best way of checking them.
