electrical design

i went to price up a job with a colleague who is fq and registered, for a new install in an outside unit, it requires, socket, lighting and a shower/extract system plus a radial heater. As iv never done any design work i asked to do the design for it as a learning curve for me.

The location is a dog groomers inside a house, it already has a shower/extract system, sockets and lighting, so here goes for my plan and design and i need feedback.

the old groomers is to be decom and ripped out, The original shower is wired from the house cu in 10.0mm t+e fed from a 45a mcb on the rcd side, i was thinkiing of using this circuit and putting a new cu in the outbuilding, the quote comprises of, 2 ip rated strip lights and switch, 5 twin sso, one of which is above the shower so will be ip rated, shower and connection unit, extract system and fan isolator, radial heater and fcu, ip rated also. the new board will be a 6 or 8 way with rcbo's on sockets, shower, and radial heater.

Will upload design drawing later
Thoughts so far?

What diversity are you going with on the total load ?

How far is this outside unit from the CU and that 10mm supply for the VD

As there are services in the out building are they going to be plastic or metal, is any the of the out building metal, all this for bonding purposes

You may want to think about the RCD protection that is in the house, could that be a problem if it trips then not only the outbuilding but the house will be affected.

Are you exporting the earth or are you going to TT.

Are you joining the original 10mm somewhere and using SWA perhaps to the out building. If so would it not be better to perhaps run an SWA completely.

Just a few for now and I'm sure more to come as more info you give.

Right the outbuilding is a direct extension and all the wiring will be in the fabric of the new building, I am going to use the earth from the 10.0mm and extend it across, and then bond to the water for the shower, as it will have a separate cu I wasn't worried about the house side cu being affected if there is a fault

Right so it's not an extension and you will need install some sort of external system to feed it.

How are you planning to do that, ie go across that meter gap ?

With that new CU there you will create in that installation what is literally an Earth Marshalling Terminal as I assume your exporting the earth, so you will need at least a 10mm^ bonding combined CPC from the original MET for this, or perhaps more depending on your earthing arrangemnets. so that 10mm^ T+E will not give you that. It may pay you to do the adiabatic equation to see if the 4mm or 6mm CPC in the T+E will do you for the CPC and the run a bonding cable seperate.

So from my OP and this one anymore info you need
