Hi guys,

If anyone could offer me a little advice, it would be really appreciated. Mega quick background on myself... I left school and worked as a mechanic for two years, then did air conditioning and refrigeration (gained NVQ2) and worked in that field for 3 years, I then worked as a maintenance engineer (mechanical) and decided I wanted to study electrical/electronic engineering.. I've always swapped around and never been too sure on what I wanted to do until I did this course. I've done my electrical & electronic extended diploma level 3 and just about to finish my HND (merit/distinction hopefully) 4 years in total. I've a little hands on electrical experience and I've done a fair amount of work with a local sparky.. I've not really any idea what to do with my qualification and if anyone would be interested in me at all.

Apologies for the life story, just hope any input, positive or negative could help me.. seems there isn't many jobs out there at all. I'd happily gain extra experience and would be more than happy to start at the bottom somewhere.

Thank you.

From my knowledge a HND qualification is about 2 steps higher than the usually needed to be an electrician.

You should be looking at an office based job where you will be designing jobs or project managing etc.. If you wanted to further educate you could maybe go for a degree in Building Services.
