Am thinking of a career change as a sub contractor am earning £3-4 more than mates on site whats the point I’m either gonna go on site as a mate for £15 ph or get a job cleaning trains which is a definite job if i want it.Now there's a leading question if ever I saw one.
Hi mate you get what you pay for as you put your prices up you know what your worth if a soark chargers what you charge at least customers have to relies that the spark must be good charging those prices, good sparks should be on ÂŁ25-35ph anyway its not much to ask when you look at the consequence of a bad clueless spark how many times have you yourself had to rectify bad workmanshipI do know what you mean.
Having said that, I decided recently to put my prices up from ÂŁ25/hour to ÂŁ35/hour and I've never been so busy!
Your not wrong James, People expect work done for nothing I done a job for a couple the other day what i quoted shocked the bloke he said no he’ll do it himself 4 days later he phoned and said could i come and have a look so i did only because his mrs made him swallow his pride I added an extra 20% to my quote as i had to sort his mess out. If i do a job customers can sleep at night knowing the work abides and his safe but people want cheap this is were the cowboys take advantageQuote what you think your worth to people.
don't overprice, you will be the poorest self employed lad in the neighbourhood.
don't under price as you will be the busiest fool in the neighbourhood.
there is a price bracket that you will fit in to, try for the upper part of it, but accept the lower part of it if you are quiet.
Yes definitely!Quick question, be interesting to hear some opinions, “Is the electrical industry a race to the bottom?
