Hi, my name is Mario. I am a qualified machinist but looking for a change of career in the Electrical industry. Because I haven't much time (and money!) I was looking initially for a distance learning course that can introduce me to the trade and is recognized.
For instance, does anybody knows about the BTEC Electrical Installations and Design Level 3 Certificate
which seems to be quite popular between indipendent training provider or the BTEC Advanced Diploma Level 3. Has anybody tried one of these or is something else better to go for as a distance learning.

Thank you in advance for any feedback or help,

C Mario Zizza

Those are big qualifications for someone who just wants to do "installations". If you want to be an electrician do 2330 Levels 2 and 3, 17th Edition and an NVQ. If you want to be an engineer or the like then the courses you mentioned are more apt. Cheers

Hi, thank you very much for your reply. I will get in touch with a local college (Shrewsbury, Shropshire) and see what courses are available because I cannot find reasonably price distance learning courses for the City and Guilds in this area.
