Hi there,

Just new to this site, thought i would come and ask some of you guys for help. Ive worked for MITIE for the last 5 years now doing electical installations n have various certifications such as 17th edition, PAT testing, IPAF, PASMA, various H&S although im not a qualified electrician. Does anyone know what my best route would be to acheive this status or has any adult apprentice places available.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

nvq 3 is the way forward mate youl have to pay for it yourself from your local college. nvq 3 with 2330, am2, years supervised experience etc is all sorted by the college so u need to secure a job with a small local contractor as a labourer (apprentice) which should be easy with your experience. enrole on the course, attend 1 day a week then 4 years later youl be qualified. then do 17th & 2391 for prestige. this is the real route to qualifying as a spark. or theres the electrical installers route which will be shorter to complete (about a year) but doesnt qualify you as an electrician. as the content is domestic only this is for people who want to start their own business housebashing and thats it. go for gold mate, be the best and youl benefit in the future when it comes to securing a well paid reliable job.
