Hello. I am a video game speedrunner. I got an idea. I would like to build a device to stimulate the muscles and assist in button mashing by inducing spasms. Does anyone know anything about this? Specifically what amperages/voltages/frequencies in what part of the arm will induce the desired affects?

Is it even possible to control individual fingers/wrists this way? I know it can be done to move the forearm relatively simply but can it be used for more precise movements?

As far as I know EMS is about improving the performance of a muscle over time, not about getting the muscle to function beyond is natural limits on command.

Surely it would be easier to build a mechanical device that operates the buttons faster than you could be hand?

Agree with Marvo - you need a mechanical/pneumatic system. Or wire a Transistor across the button terminals and switch it on and off as fast as you want to.

Hi,the thought-to-muscle action time delay,is more or less fixed,as a minimum...this is how the false-start timers,in running competitions,work.

I would imagine the mechanical and electrical inputs could be tweaked...

I have been asked about similar desires,by my nephew, and i told him if he placed a full length mirror,in his bedroom,so he could see his shabby, pale and over animated form, cursing at strangers, wearing a vest,in the middle of the day....he may take stock of his life, and worry no more ;)

A mechanical device would break rules. I think you could probably move your finger up and down at a greater frequency than your brain could get it to.

Jerry I’m no expert on electrical shock therapy but you can purchase power supplies that’s 120vac to Feed it and 24vdc is on the output. You could get you a merger that you have to hand crank and have someone to hold the leads

Only in a country where waterboarding,is an enhanced interview technique, could a person recommend a way of self-administering ECT...???
