Electrical pictures

Just wondering if anybody had any decent electrical related pictures for our new site? Or alternatively any where I can get them off the web.

Just take pictures of good jobs you do. Using other peoples pics on a website can be a minefield of copyright infringement....

We are going to have examples of work etc but was looking for pics to go next to menu headings! Didnt want to get into copyright issues. Thought maybe there might be some on the web for free?

Your free to use a picture of the side of our vans as long as you keep our phone number in!

If not try doing a google image search... BUT beware (as rocker said) of infringing copyright laws.
There is "ways" around using other people pictures but I'm not qualified enough to know, just remember the x wife who was a designer "borrowing" images and "making them her own". She said it was legal... and to be fair she did manage to take nearly £40k off me legally!!!!

Also stock image places can be ok. Still think taking them your self is the best policy

Weve just built a web site Cu Connected Electrical contractors, domesitc and commercial electrician services based in Chester covering Cheshire, North Wales, Wirral
The place to get your photos from without breaching copyright law, is istockphoto . com
its an american site so you have to dig deep especially if you want one of correct cable colours, all images are hi res and very very good, you dont pay any royalties to anyone once youve purchased the image its yours to use
and for my site I paid 14 quid for all the pics excluding the logo which i had done seperatly

Also what do you think, got a mate who does this and the site only cost me a 5 downlighter install - took me 4 hours

Taking any picture off t'internet for use as your own without the owner's express consent is theft and could cost you a fortune if they find out - best not risk it. Either take your own piccies or buy some royalty free images from one of the many microstock sites such as istockphoto.com

Mind you, I'm a semi-pro photographer in my spare time so if there's anything specific you need, please let me know - my rates are very reasonable
