Hi Guys,

Why we can, even 7 years after Part P came in force, find the wires installed in a very poor conditions?
There are no sleeves on the earth wires and in 2 Way switches there are no brown sleeves on the SL conductors.
Maybe somebody can give an answer.
Thank you.
Peter

And if you stood in a town centre and asked 100 passers by if they how part p affected them in there own homes 99/100 would look at you blankely, ask them what gas safe was and 99/100 would say yes i cant touch gas i need a gas safe engineer,so part p at an average of ÂŁ450-500 a year how do they use this money i wonder to put the message across to joe public,it does not have enough press advertising, and also gas safe is only ÂŁ200 a year we are all getting ripped off!!!

Joe Public can’t see any gain from part P. All he sees is more money going in to the pocket of the electrician.
Don’t start on me! It’s how it’s perceived. His mate Joe at the pub will never be short of work!

Also for not much more than we pay for BS7671, Gas Safe members can get access to 80+ Standards that they may require for a similar fee.

Peter if they were the only examples of bad practice I come across, I would be a happy man!, I actually don't expect to see sleeved switch conductors and am surprised when I find some!
