Does anyone have a model form for the above?

Customer requesting a visual inspection of property and would like to have a form to cover this.

The NICEIC do a Domestic Visual Condition Report-here's an example:

I would be pushing the customer towards a PIR if I were you, I'm not convinced of the worth of a DVCR!

Sorry guys i will point blank refuse to do just a visual inspection , found so many defects in testing over the years id rather be able to sleep at night knowing the install is safe you cant tell that just by looking at it, it goes a good way dont get me wrong and a visual is just part of the inspection , you dont get your car MOT'd and say oh dont bother checking the brakes now do you ,even if the install has had a full PIR and remidial works carried out you cant always tell any faults that may have developed or dodgy alterations things that testing will only show up supply faults etc how can you tell that the Ze is ok .. just my opinion

I've got one of these to do tomorrow. Spoke to the agent re the severe limitations of this type of inspection but they have a policy of doing these type of reports for modern properties and PIRs on older ones...

I will do the report, enclose my invoice and add written limitations of the visual report in laymans terms in a letter (eg, the visual report is like inspecting a car but not being allowed to open the bonnet, start it up and drive it). The notes on the back of the visual report itself also explain the limitations (although we know they won't bother reading them).

It's a joke, the Landlords & Tennants Act requires compliance with EAWR 1989, how will a visual inspection prove compliance?

And this is what the ESC say on the matter. Im with Nick on this!!!!

Visual condition reports
A visual condition report will include the results of the inspection of
the electrical installation.
A visual condition report does not include testing, so the inspection
is not likely to find hidden damage to equipment (for example,
damage to cables and joints).
Usually, a visual inspection report is only suitable if the installation
has been tested in the last couple of years, and the results were
reported (on an electrical installation certificate or a periodic
inspection report) as being satisfactory (good enough).

Tony, I hope you're not suggesting that anyone would use a DVCR without satisfying the above conditions? ;)The very fact that this document does not exist in Section 6 tells it's own story, it should be scrapped by the scheme providers.

The Nic invented domestic installer, they also invented these visual things

Unless Elecsa also issue them, then its another Niceic only dumbing down excercise

I believe they alone permit their use
