Hi All.
I have come accros a domestic supply cut-out that has no details printed on it indicating what fuse rating or type is within it . So am stuck on what details to fill in on my EICR report.
I would be grateful any experienced sparky's could either point me in the right direction to find this info out or give me the info directly.

Unfortunately my permissions show I do not have the facility to post an attachment so unable to pluck a photo from my dropbox folder so am a bit stuck.

Any advice much appreciated on how I can get this sorted with a posting of my photo.

Many thanks in advance.

pull the bullit if it looks in good condition and its one screw to remove the fuse from the carrier.

if you cant remove/ no permission put n/v or lim

but do but the type on at least

you can upload to say imageshack and post a link to it, using the img button and it will work

As previously stated use NV in the relevant box. I would ignore the advise to pull the DNO's fuse as if it does go wrong you will be facing a world of pain.
Not sure it is the best thing to be guiding inexperienced people to pull cutout fuses really. If you have to ask the question you shouldn't be pulling them.

then it is there own fault if they pop it.

they should only do it with no load on it, this goes without saying and where do you draw the line, the only practical way to work safely on a fuseboard change is to isolate upstream.

It doesn't matter who's fault it is if someone is hurt, apportioning blame doesn't help them heal!
Pulling the fuse off load only reduces the risk, it doesn't negate it all together.
He's not working on the board, all he wants to do is read the writing on the fuse. It's not worth pulling the service fuse for.

Ahh! the old chestnut, DO NOT PULL THE CUT OUT YOURSELF, yes we can all do it, there are hidden dangers, unless your prepared to be blinded leave well alone. To many cut outs are in a VERY dangerous condition, if the old cable supplying the cut out shorts out when you pull the fuse! Do PSCC test you'll know what sort of amperage your staring at. Its dangerous, that's why people who do do it, are trained.
