I am just looking for a second opinion on a condition report I have had done on a rental property I have. I had a report done as to check the condition of the electrics and have been told that on the lighting and sockets there is no continuity of conductors yet the certificate has been completed including boxes for R1+R2, IR and ZR. I have googled it and if there is no continuity it seems to me that there would be no readings. I’m not an electrical expert but it has confused me and so I was looking for some advise, perhaps a retest? I have a few rental properties so there will be more work moving forward, thank you ?

It is possible that there is continuity to some sockets/lights (where R1+R2 can be taken) and not to others, so the C2 code might only be for one fixing or room (The observations should make this clear ideally).

With the sockets, if they are on a Ring Final Circuit (32A breaker usually), then the lack of continuity may suggest that the loop is not complete for the cpc (earth), This would give a reading for R1+R2 & Zs at each socket, but would still need to be resolved - however, it is sometimes as simple as a loose connection in a socket or junction box.

If yoiu want to post a copy with identification removed, we can look at it and give you a better idea, but it may be worth seeking clarification. The remedial works for a missing earth could be anywhere from simple to a complete rewire so it's hard to be more definitive without more information.
