electrical upgrade grant query

Hello,
We are about to move into a 1960 property built in 1960 that needs the electrics updated (I believe some of it may be original wiring)
We are both old age pensioners and wonder if anybody can advise if we can get Government or Council grants to help with the cost.

No. you maybe eligible for help towards the cost of having a new boiler installed though through the governments ECO scheme.

I dont know where you live but it may be possible. But I would suggest you approach your local council or CAB. I know in the town I live there is a local charity that assists with this.

Albeit they may not be able to directly help you, they may be aware if there are such allowances available.
