So it has happened, I hear on the radio that an Elerctrician was electrocuted last night working in an Marks and Spencers in Kent somewhere.
So what will happen now?
New regs?
New insurance?
Only qualified personel to work on Electrics?

None of the above.
There are already enough controls in place.

My thoughts go out to the family who have lost their father, son, brother. Accidents happen, however tragic they are to the families concerned.

Quite so.

When you take into account the number of workplace fatalities it's a sad inevitability that some will be electricians. There were 173 for 2011/12. Statistics - Fatal injury statistics for 2011/12

Possibly a coincidence, but there's a noticeable dip after the 17th came in.

That'll be something else, 17th didn't do much for the workplace.

There's a dip 08 - 10, ties in with loss of jobs due to the World crisis.
There will be an slight increase soon as employment picks up, the current rate of reduction is below the previous average.
