Electrician Qualifications.

NVQ level 3 (C&G 2356) and 17th edition (2382) , 2330

Are these the qualifications you need to legal work as a domestic electrician?

Can you just buy books read and take a test or is there some kind of work related dimension? i.e working as electricians mate and being assessed in the workplace. If so what qualification(s) would you get before approaching electricians/companies for work experience?

What are the recommended and crucial books to have? Also what tools?

Anything else?

If i was you i would go to college and spend a year getting my Level 2 in electrical installation, then apply to companies for a level 3 NVQ apprenticeship. Also get yourself an onsite guide, bloody useful thing to have.
