Good god.wish i had the cash ha ha.

Why ditch the Bosch gear, is it no good? Only reason for asking looking to upgrade all my old duff stuff to Bosch next year

No the Bosch gear is superb, I absolutely love it (Hence why I have so much) I'm still keeping a 18v SDS, 18V Circular Saw, a 18V Combi & 18V Angle Grinder which all use the same Li-Ion batteries. Just had to spend some money before doing my books in April and Hilti did some good deals with it been Christmas so thought I would treat myself early. I bought a TE 7-A cordless SDS for heavy drilling (Replaced my GBH36VF-LI), a TE 4-A22 SDS (Replaced my GBH18V-LI) for lighter fixings, a SF 22A for driving (Replaced the GDR18V-LI) and a TE 30-C-AVR Corded Combihammer (Replaced GBH3-28) for chasing and very heavy drilling.

You will be fine with Bosch, their gear is excellent and the 3 year warranty is also great. I had my 10.8 GOP Multicutter fail the other day and Bosch picked it up and replaced it within 3 days under warranty. The GBH18V-LI is in all honesty better than the lighter Hilti SDS in my opinion as it is lighter and drills upto 10mm just the same. Battery life is about the same on both drills.

My main problem is that I am addicted to buying tools (an expensive hobby to have) so replace most tools at least every year, sometimes sooner. I first started off with Makita and have also used Dewalt but found Bosch to be far superior in nearly every way.

I can vouch for the expensive hobby bit it's addictive!! I can't think what to buy next though I'm running out of accuses to buy more Hilti stuff lol, so you didn't go for the corded 6 in the end. The TE 30-C is a great machine. It is true most of the Hilti cordless stuff is on a par with Bosch made in the same factory no doubt, apart from the newer Hilti cordless SDS are made in china!. I think it's only the 22v SDS currently but I'm sure the next Gen TE-6/7 with be made there too.

I liked the look of the corded 6 but I didn't realize it didn't have rotary stop. The 3 stage dial was actually 2 different hammer modes and 1 drilling mode. And I could only find the corded 7 in a 240v so had to go for the heavier TE 30-C. I only really use the corded when chasing now so needed the rotary stop feature. Any drilling that needs doing is done with the cordless. I must admit after using the 22v SDS I am a little unsure if I will ever use the 36v TE7 as the 22v has drilled up to 14mm with no problems.

I am now just looking at purchasing a full new set of drill bits but can't find anywhere that tells me the difference between TE-CX and TE3-CX bits???

The difference is size. One is the standad SDS plus the other is a Hilti own size which is in-between SDS and SDS max, I've just made the same mistake and I'm now the proud owner of the wrong size drill bit ahhhh!! Not cheap two bits £101 for a 12mm/ 630mm and a 16mm/430 I think. It does make a difference using their own brand bits.

sorry m8 my correction the size difference is between the TE-C bit and the TE-T bits. Can't see any difference between the two your looking at apart from one goes to a larger size, they both have solid carbide heads, maybe the only thing being slightly different is the angle of the Helix. One thing to do when you do get some, they are guaranteed by Hilti as long as the little red wear indicater is intact just put some insulation tap around it so it doesn't get battered and looks new when in the unlikely event the tip drops off in the first month or two:)had two do it to me recently on the same job, can't really complain they've lasted 3yrs. There is also a wear indicator on the second or third fluke up from the tip it's like a notch in the metal it's only there so you can tell the drill bit is drilling the correct diameter holes still for anchor bolts.

Final Drop before eBay. GSB18VE-2LI, GDR18V-LI MF & GBH18V-LI drills, 2 x 18V 3.0ah batteries (Newest version with LED charge indicator), charger, L-Boxx, Dewalt SDS Bit Set, all with at least 2.5 years warranty left.

So that is 3 drills, 2 batteries, 1 charger, a case and some bits with warranty, all for less than the price of Pennywise's new suit!!!!

£375 (And you'd better wear a mask.......and I'll have my hand back etc etc)

eBay is a Bizarre thing. I have now sold the GBH18V-LI, 2 batteries, charger and drill bits for more than I originally wanted.

I now have for sale a naked GSB18VE-2LI for £80 and a naked GDR18V-LI MF (Multi Function version) for £85 inc delivery if anyone interested
