Electrics on display furniture.

Hi don't know if anyone can help! I have been an install electrician for the last 10 year's, but have now become a maintenance manager of a manufacturing company. I carry out maintenance, install work and also production work which is basically wiring up lights, sockets etc on display units for companies like John Lewis etc. What I was trying to find out was do I need to be with a governing body ie niceic for the install work and production work. Also does the display furniture fall under the wiring regs or are there other regulations that apply to the furniture. At the moment I pat test everything however it doesn't get live tested on site. Thanks for any help..

The company you work for, are they not a member of one of the scams?

One of what scams.
The company has been going 90 years. This area of electrics although not complicated is new to me.
E.g. some of the furniture is metal with electrics on so at the moment I am bonding everything, pat testing it and treating it as class 1 equipment. I just wanted to find out if there were specific regulations to follow for this stuff.
