Discuss emergency light certificate in the Periodic Inspection Reporting & Certification area at ElectriciansForums.net

You can wire emergency lights in Twin and earth if they are a battery type and will illuminate on loss of power. LSF and other cables would be specified at the design stage. Not much point using LSF on one circuit if the rest of the installation is standard cable!!. What would be the point. If the lights are fed from a central supply then you will have to use a pyro or similar to comply with the requirements of the relevant regulations.
I always issue a certificate for any new installation and alterations or additions to an existing circuit. As most times you will be doing these in commercial or industrial situations I would also be inclined to do a full inspection on the system first if the customer will go for it with a full 3 hour test. You will be surprised how many of the lights go out after 5-10 minutes due to duff battery packs.

Just about really and make sure any alterations are fully tested for 3 hours as a minimum as one of the check boxes requires a full test. I would recommend grabbing a PDF of the relevant regulations first, sorry I can't help there as mine is a hard copy.

Em Lighting needs to be tested upon installation and periodically afterwards. 1 Hour and 3 Hour tests are the norm. Well....I say need, they should be. Usually the manufacturer has a leaflet inside of the box that the light comes with, sometimes includes certs aswell.

It’s getting to the point where full LED replacement is cheaper than spending time on testing and possibly replacing parts.
