I was recently working on some low voltage emergency lighting units. The mains supply fuse in the transformer and battery charger pack had blown. I replaced the fuse and replaced the carrier into the fuse block and it blew again instantly, as the fuse blew it tripped the breaker on the main consumer unit. It also tripped out three circuit breakers on a seperate consumer unit which supplied some pir switching devices. Would this be classed as a normal reaction to replcing a fuse or would this suggest some additional issues with the wiring of the lighting circuits. Only the client is trying to charge me ÂŁ900.00 for his electricians charges to replace the breaker units and an external lighting circuit time clock he says we damaged by changing the fuse. Any views would be appreciated
