Filling out a emergency lighting periodic inspection and testing certificate stuck on section I categories of operation for emergency lighting system what do I put here any help welcome !

Suggest you obtain a copy of the BS 5266 before conducting life saving tests.
In this nice book you will find the following.....

Type:

X self-contained;
Y central supply;

b) Mode of operation:
0 non-maintained;
1 maintained;
2 combined non-maintained;
3 combined maintained;
4 compound non-maintained;
5 compound maintained;
6 satellite;

c) Facilities:
A including test device;
B including remote rest mode;
C including inhibiting mode;
D high risk task area luminaire;

d) Duration of emergency mode (in minutes) for a self-contained system:
60.............1 h duration;
120............2 h duration;
180............3 h duration.

What i'd like to know, is why an apprentice conducting life saving tests in the first place?? Couple that, with doing so without the appropriate BS to hand and something is telling me something is very wrong here!!!

So many facility companies popping up offering to maintain business premises, especially care homes. They expect their staff cover plumbing, electrical, fire, em lighting and nurse call systems etc......But these poor guys turn up with no test equipment and no spare parts, so they charge a return visit when part arrives.
