Just something I was thinking about...

I've seen 8W IP65 luminaires on offer for about ÂŁ10 inc vat... They're 3hr, maint/non-maint by fitting of a jumper wire, or you can use a standard switch. So a loop-in lighting installation already has the permanent and switched lines required. I got one to see what they were like.

So, if I replaced a light fitting (8W CFL at the moment) with one of these for my own convenience, would I then need to ensure the install complied with emergency lighting regs, even if the installation of emergency lighting was not mandatory?
