Hiya Guys
I am involved in a project that is turning a warehouse into a gym. so it has several different areas. ie . ladies changing /male changing . office treatment rooms etc etc .
The client has requested that the emergency lighting key switches be installed in his office. does this comply or do i need to install a key switch for each area locally.?

Thanks Julian

As emergency lighting in an area should be on the same circuit as the normal lighting the length of switch run to his office and back to each area could be quite long depending upon size off the building.

A good book that will tell you is the IEE electricians book to emergency lighting. i will have a quick llok through see what it says.

You can do that and it will comply, as long as the keyswitchs are clearly labelled up (what area they're responsable for) then theres no problem. Done the same method 3 weeks ago on a large education building.

just had a quick look and i cant see a problem, as mickytuff says labelled up for what location each keyswitch is for.

Thanks Guys for the prompt replies.
was pretty certain it would be ok, but its best to check these things. sometimes its a hell of a lot easier than ploughing through the regs..
Thanks again.

Julian

Yer i know what your saying, but have been in lots of places doing Periodics and quite a few have had EL installed with a central switch in offices or somewhere similar. so gonna go for what the client wants.
Thanks anyway.
Julian
