Emergency Lighting

Do you have to attend a course for testing emergency lighting.
I am Part-P REGISTERED !!!!!
I have been asked to test lights in flats above shops.. about 6 in all. Small bulkheads !!
Can I be counted as competent to do this!!!!!

How much experience have you had of testing emergency lights?

You dont need any to test.....but make a mistake, and you will end up in hot water.
Suggest brush up on BS5266

Spent 15 years in building maintenance.. In the City Of London....
Repaired more than you can shake a stick @ ... After testing them.

5266 is a fairly basic and short document read it and get yourself a good lux meter and a set if fish keys off you go,
An experienced electrician will soon be able to get his head round it.
I think there are loads if courses out there
