Emergency Stop - HELP

Hi,

I would like to add a emergency stop to my workbench at home, the curcit will go like this:
GRID>Fuse Box/Consumer Unit>Emergency Stop>Plug Sokect. Can you put a emergency stop there? Could I have a picture of the inside of the emergency stop. Or would I just need to buy a normal switch and use that? the emergency stop is a mushroom head.

Thank You in advance

The above type emergency stop is wired in series with normally the control circuit of a contactor, as you would in most circumstances want to isolate both the lives, ie LINE and NEUTRAL.

If you were installing an E stop in a factory, you would have to have some means of preventing whatever you stop from re-starting when the E stop is re-set.
However as this is for your own use, a simple switch breaking either the feed to the socket, or between the socket and machine will suffice.

E Stops are only rated at a few amps, maybe not enough for your load. easiest way would be to buy a ready built DOL starter. and use the stop button for e stop, or add a latching estop button in series with the stop button on the stsrter. use the contactor L1/T1and L2/T2 to break both L and N.
