Employing expertise

As anyone employed someone with more experiance than themself's in a given field to take on more contracts and to brake into new sectors within the electrical industrie and if so how did it work out?

i would have thought the majority of large electrical companys do this with the directors probably not having any electrical qualifications whatsoever.
