end of line resistor

Hi all,

I am installing a fire alarm, justrealised that for each zone and sounder circuit,there should be an end ofline resistor, cannnot find it in screwfix. what will happen if i dont use it?

Your alarm panel will be in fault and constantly bleep , the value you should have is 6.8k but this depends on the make of panel you may require a minimu ,the EOL's are normally inside the alarm in a plastic bag when you buy the alarm

opps silly me got the values wrong had a hard day , its 6.8 k , yes these go on on the last detector or sounder on the circuit , but as i have said values depends on the panel but normally its 6k8 some panels use capacators on the detectors and 6k8 resistors on the sounders , that is for a conventional panel
