Big Erik
I'll start by saying I'm not an electrician.
I have tried to replace an existing PIR light for the front of my house. I've tried a new unit from Homebase, and after two showed the same problem have tried one from Wickes, and have tried different bulbs too. It was like for like install, so there shouldn't have been a problem. The only difference in the new units is that they use Energy Saving bulbs, whereas the old light didn't.
When I switch the light on, the bulb flickers repeatedly, and does not stop. When I switch the light off, the bulb goes out, as I'd expect. I've seen a number of forums where the bulb flickers when off, but nothing with this problem.
Can anyone shed any light (pardon the pun) on why this is happening and what can be done to fix it?
