Sirs,
We can provide an Energy Rating Indication for a property you will be quoting on.
Using a simple questionnaire, we can provide a draft EPC which will give an indication of the property Energy rating
for any property (domestic).
How it works:
You have an enquiry to estimate or quote for a solar array.
For you to be in a position to quote, you may feel you need an indication of the "energy performance banding" of the property.
We will supply you with a questionnaire which can be forwarded to your customer, for them to either:
(a) complete and send back to you, you forward to us, and we compile the Draft EPC - or:
(b) once all questions have been answered, you could ask your customer to call us, and we can go through the questions on
the phone in a roughly 10 minute survey. Once that is completed, we will then email over the indicated Energy rating
for the property to enable you to make an informed decision.
(This is not a substitute for a full EPC, and the energy rating may change when a full EPC inspection is carried out. The desktop
survey will be undertaken using a simplified model of the Governments recommended system for producing energy ratings for
dwellings (RDSAP). The Assessment is simplified by assuming some of the characteristics of the property from the information supplied.
The report is NOT a valid Energy Performance Certificate, and should only be used as an indicator of the efficiency of any dwelling.)

(* please note, the property owner may have an existing EPC. Please make enquiries with property the owner in the first instance)
From this point, you will then be able to close the sale.
Once the installation has been completed, and the system commissioned, you will then require
an Energy Performance Certficate for the property, which includes the array ( under some circumstances), to be able to apply for the FIT.
The official lodged EPC will involve a full survey of the property by a registered and accredited Domestic Energy Assessor (DEA).
As you will have commissioned the EPC, you will have ownership of it.
As part of the FIT application, you will have the option to "sell" the EPC to your customer, or include the cost(s) in your
sales contract. In this way, the EPC will not be a cost to you.
We have a national network of DEA`s who can provide the official EPC, and have a ( free access) automated software solution to make the
EPC ordering process very simple.
If you require further information about costs, then please email your enquiry, with details regarding the number of certificates you feel you may require.
The desktop "indicator draft EPC" is priced at ÂŁ18.99 + vat per report, and we will require payment upon order.
If you require any further information, then please dont hesitate to contact us
Regards
The Energy Performance Team

The only problem with EST is you need a different email address for every job you want to check and the information can be inaccurate - you need to check it carefully, mine was quite a long way out. You don't want to use your customer's email address because if you do that and they read EST's advice they will look for another couple of quotes.

I have to say I'd be tempted with the offer Dansk, but I'd want to see what sort of get out clauses there were and how much the EPC costs once the sale is secured.

I'd be concerned that their "simplified" model and assumptions might favour a lower band than the reality. I'm sure they'll have themselves covered if they give you an incorrect "indication" of the EPC rating so you will be the one carrying the can.

It's a bit like asking me to describe my car - it's got 4 wheels, 4 doors, it's blue and does 70mph on the motorway but you don't know if it's a Porsche or a Mini-Metro until I tell you.

I suppose it's a bit different for me I've done this stuff before so should have a good idea of where the rating would be - it's more difficult if you don't know how it all works.
