Ok, I've got an E rated house - on the EPC it will go to C with 4 kwp of pv, but when I add the 4kwp on the EPC adviser it's leaving the rating still as E. What am I doing wrong - getting paranoid now!

Thanks - I'm not keen to gamble though - surely it's got to increase it by at least the 5 points it needs to get to D!

If you look at the list of improvements on the EPC advisor and use the difference between the last measure and the one you want ie replace with new condensing boiler E50, solar water heating E51 - can I assume that solar thermal only adds 1 to the rating and from solar thermal E51 to pv D56 would be an additional 5 points??? Or am I just not understanding this at all ..... we've got an lpg, 16th C cottage - can't see it hitting the D rating.

sort of, the problem is that the impact is cumulative, so the impact of one measure further down the list may be higher than listed if you don't do the other measure first - ie SWH will save them more energy if they've not fitted the condensing boiler, because they're spending more energy on their water heating from their less efficient boiler... so SWH might be worth 2 points without the condensing boiler, and the condensing boiler would then be worth 1 point less if fitted after the SWH etc.
