Hi,
is a EPC survey adequate for a Solar PV install or do you need the full SAP?

You need an EPC certificate of D or above.

We use SAP to estimate the potential generation of a system, you would need the SAP figure for the MCS certificate and the EPC for the Feed in Tariff application.

SAP is also used to calculate the EPC too ! Standard Assessment Process ...does what it's says on the tin ...
