VW T5 2009 professional camper conversion.
Driver's window operates normally for long periods, then suddenly develops a mind of its own opening and closing erratically intendent of the switch. Sometimes it will simply open / close. Sometimes it will alternate rapidly between opening and closing. It will sometimes continue to do this even after the ignition has been fully switched off (although to my knowledge the problem has never started when the engine is switched off).
Longstanding but intermittent problem. Will work for months without a problem. Seems to be associated with onset of damp weather (halloween is coincidental on this occasion).
Normally this behaviour is short lived. The switch is unresponsive whilst it is doing this and then becomes responsive again. At the moment it is unresponsive.
I took it to a VW garage and of course it worked perfectly and they said to come back when it was not working (but currently unavailable).
Could it be as simple as a temperamental switch? Any thoughts?
