Hi

is anybody here involved with pricing jobs?

as i have 2 new builds to price from drawings and really need some help

yes i do but theres more info on the drawing than there is on the spec so i thought would be best to price from that theres also a couple of points missing from spec thats on the drawing.

there is only 3 things specified which are

extract fans
showers
tail rails

and the rest is down to me.

If you have experieance in pricing would you be able to give me an idea on how to do it?

Well many people price in different ways.

Some price per point (approx ÂŁ60 ish).

I however, price materials, add profit and then estimate how long it would take me with a bit extra.

Worked for me for many years and have never 'lost' on a job.

Maybe a few of the other lads may be along to give you their input.

thanks Jason
I have got Spons guide to electrical estimating but i think i would have to spend a week walking round with a tape measure if i was to price from that.

oh yeah meant to say Towel Rails

So for a light point would ÂŁ60 cover the switch to? or an outlet off of a spur or a cooker point? or is that included? and do i add the cost of materials on top of that or is that included to?

do you's adjust that price if its a rewire or new build, chased in or not or in trunking e.t.c.

if materials is not included then i suppose i could add a mark up on materials, ive heard people say 30% does that sound right ?

Thanks for the replies lads.

Think im gonna chuck that spons book in the bin, does anyone actually use it?

anyone able to help or advise where i could get more info?

thanks
