my day at being a bad boy was at covent garden in London we had this real b*tch of a health and safty officer she was gistarpo in another life
everything had to be done to the letter .
well myself and another guy were on 2 towers quite high up nothing major tho but I had my kick boards on and my tower was complete ,but my bud had forgot to fit his toe boards not the 2 wide towers just narrowspan , well we were both knealing down and he turned around and knocked the claw hammer of the tower and when we looked down as you do the hs woman was just walking by .
well I laughted at him because I knew what he was infor from her as she hated everybody now she had an excuse .
she fetched our boss and he shouted him down and me ME ,well I couldnot believe it , office he said .
well she proceeded to dress him down about dangers and how it could have killed her even tho it was miles away ,and how stupid he was bla bla bla bla bla , then she turned to me as I was enjoying his demise and said and YOU laughting do you think hs is a joke well f*ck me that was it both kicked off site

In today's world if you saw he had not put the kick boards around his work platform and didn't inform him then you get the blame as well. However getting it just for laughing is a bit much !!

she was horrible woman a total jobs worth ,I think hs is vital especially in our trade , and a few tellings of and being made to do things we would not normally do is also vital for our safety and for others but she was nasty with a capital nasty

I've never been kicked off site but I've kicked a few overzealous H&S Nazis off my sites in the past.

One was on a rooftop in London with 6m cat ladder access, the bloke was a known Bell of the end and decided to audit me on site. First thing I knew was him rattling on the security gate at the top of the ladder wittering to let me in. I allowed him in, took a photo and kicked him off site for climbing without fall arrest. then reported to my own company as a near miss which was then passed onto the site owner who banned him from all of their sites, he lost his job over it but TBH it was well deserved and he'd really screwed some people over in the past.

No but been escorted off by the Babylon, due to falling foul of the local Italian Mobsters, in Bristol

Got kicked out of a nursery last week. Arrived to wire up a new cooker. Wanted to check the DB, school caretaker with the keys to the DB cupboard (from the school next door) turned up and his first words were had I been inducted. Nope, I hadn't so off home I popped ! Nice early finish ! Bloody silly arised rules though. I'm so glad I don't have to deal with that kind of nonsense daily!

Back in the day the only thing on your feet were steel toe cap boots all similar in nature and easy to clock, moving forward several yrs we saw trainers that complied with all the safety criteria but still looked almost trainer --ish....

I was on site and some 'up his own rear' jobsworth site safety officer pulled me up on site and kicked me off even before I had chance to explain, I rang the company in charge of the job and explained and also added when he kicked me off that he was not wearing safety shoes himself but was in the working site area, adding he gets out of his company car suited up and a 'never seen dirt' reflective --- within the hour I was back on site and he made a quick exit following an uncomfortable phone conversation by all accounts.

I am happy to keep peace on any site but my one niggle is jobsworths who think they are so superior and above you that they haven't the time to listen to your responses.

Had the same working for a builder who made his mum head of health and safety...she turned up at the job after just doing a 3 day health and safety course and started shouting about extension leads on the floor.....this was a house being fully refurbed....chippys,brickies,plasterers.sparks all there trying to work...so she called a meeting in the kitchen,I let my boss go inside and i waited outside....anyway she shouted for me to come in so i went and stood behind everyone...she then began to give it the big one about h and s while standing in her coat with a handbag over her shoulder and a pair of high heels,She pointed at me and shouted WHERE ARE YOUR SAFETY BOOTS?...My boss turned and said OH NO...And all i said was THE SAME PLACE YOURS ARE.....She was not happy,,,but everyone else ----ed themselves...

Sent to one site and was asked to install light switches and lamps in factory office. Opened door and found fibre glass insulation hanging down from the roof and out of the walls.

Having suffered days of itching previously from fibre glass I asked for suitable PPE and was told to get on with it. I refused to do it without PPE and was sent off.
