ANYONE RECOMMEND A GOOD INSULATION, LOOP TESTER, MULTIMETER FOR USE IN ZONE 1 HAZARDOUS AREA,S:happy:

anything made by megger. BM400 series for continuity/insulation. LT7 for loop test,

You need to always use "Intrinsically Safe'' test instruments in hazardous areas where fume and or gas ignition is or can be present!!

Standard run of the mill test equipment should, no matter how good it is, never be used in such areas. In fact in such controlled area's, it's doubtful whether you'll even be allowed to take them onto site!!

Yep understand the need of I.S. Test kit but can only find the Fluke 87v ex but this is a multimeter only, What about Insulation tests? i assume this is done on a plant shut down with gas risks removed and monitored at all time.

Not at all, ...IS test equipment has always been available, but will cost far in excess than of your standard test kit!! Insulation testers for hazardous areas have been available ever since i've been in the industry and long before!!! Any test equipment that can cause a spark conducting a test, needs to be of the IS variety. As i stated, the operators of such hazardous environments, know the dangers and will know only too well, what is and what isn't acceptable. Very doubtful you'll ever get standard test kit past the gate!! ...lol!!!

If your on a one off job, you'll be far better hiring any test equipment you may need....

Yep understand all of that enginner 54 But Insulation test kit is not Certified under 60097-17 anymore,, the kit is out there but cannot find a product thats is ATEX Complete with cert.

if you pm me i'll tell you of a company that may be able to help.
Not sure if i can post the name on here.

Sure you can post a link to the company that maybe able to supply such a test instrument!!
It may also be a good idea, that the OP contact our forum sponsor, (Test Meter) who also maybe able to help source such instruments.... and get a discount into the the bargain...lol!!

Just come to me.... As i remember the manufacturer of IR testers i have always had occasion to use in hazardous areas, was by METROHM !! I seem to remember they had 2 models, one having more functions, than the other..
