Saw (oh how phunny!) this demonstrated on TV. Thinking of using it for box holes in tile and plywood. Currently available from Exakt for £70.00 + postage. Has anyone had any experience of using this?

If not, what would you recommend for the job?

I got something exactly the same (except its green) from B&Q, on the ‘JYL or whatever stand’. Has small disc's for cutting wood/ceramics etc. Did not get on with it. The blade is housed inside that black box bit, for safety. You have to push down on the tool, and press a small lever with your right thumb (therefore not ambidextrous). Action gets bunged up with work debris and becomes quite stiff.

Nice idea, the advert shows it being used to cut laminate flooring (it has a depth gauge), but quite dangerous when you become impatient with the action. It’s sat somewhere in the corner of my garage now.

'Sorry, thumb to power switch & forefinger to release lever - even worse!'

Yes JML stand. The green one was/is the earlier model EC310. A lot of buyers had difficulty using that but the Green one EC320 is supposedly a big imorovement on it.

Agree with Midwest.l bought green one and find it very awkward to use.Black box very stiff so unable to get smooth fluid action.Cutting depth not great,no good for floorboards.Hard to release safety catch and switch on at the same time,I removed mine.Hard to aline cutting blade with marked job ie cutting socket box in plasterboard.I watched promo video and it looked ideal but has been a disappointment, never gets used.I use one of those vibrating blade tools with interchangeable blades, most used tool and best tool I've bought, and similar price.

Is that one of those multi blade/saw/sanding things?

Yes,forget what its called, mines Bosch multi saw.Used the orther week to Discretely cut outline in delicate plaster work prier to chasing switch box using masonry blade.also used for small Chase work when needing to be careful.

They have "one of those multiblade/saw/sanding things at lidl next week.
I have a Bosch one that works fantastic, not sure how theirs compairs, but all the bits I have had from Lidl work fine, and at £30 you cannot be too fussy.
They also have spare blades that look pretty good ay £7.00

multi tool definitely. Its not a hard core cutter but for those fine no mistakes neat jobs there is nothing like it.

also they are good when working near cables as it'd be alot harder to damage one compared to a saw

I did wonder whether one of the Makita 10.8V saws would be any good for floorboards in confined spaces:
Buy Makita HS300DWE 85mm Circular Saw Kit 10.8V from Axminster, fast delivery for the UK

Anyone used one?

Yeah me!
I bought the 10.8 kit (impact, drill, circ saw, vacuum and torch) Its done me well actually.Good price for 230 I thought.
The 10.8v circ saw sounds like a kids toy when you pull the trigger but I've done a few rewires with it and its never let me down. If anything its better as it can get in a lot of tight spaces that a normal one cant. Also as the little blade is so thin its ideal for cutting between nails where the floorboards are nailed to the joists. The only downside is it canes the little batteries but as long as you have another on the charger ready to go its not a problem
