exam simulator

hi all i am revising 2382 exam with the simulator and when finished it gives you the answers but there is some i cant find the location of in the regs


IF A LINE CONDUCTOR OF AN IT SYSTEM IS EARTHED ACCIDENTALLY,THE INSULATION AND COMPONANTS REATED FOR THE LINE TO NEUTRAL VOLTAGE CAN BE TEMPORARILY STRESSED WITH A HIGHER VOLTAGE. WHAT VALUE CAN THIS REACH?

U=UO
U=SQ ROOT UO
U=SQ ROOT 3 UO

i now know the answer to be the last one but where is this in the regs

Hi mate.

Not sure where it'll be in the regs (i'll have a squint later) but I would have picked the last one straight off.

Reason being that "UO" x sqrt of 3 = "U", (230 x 1.732....= 400) it's the only one of those listed that makes sense as it's how we derive our voltages.

"UO" = voltage between any line conductor and earth

"U" = voltage between line conductors.


Hope this explains a bit for you.

we are half way through the course at the mo and on the simulator im getting 90%plus and getting through 60 questions in about an hour
i am a bit competitive so wont be happy till i get 100% time and time again

Told you it was good like you I went from nothing to 100% on simulator when it came to the exam itself 94% after 65mins
