O

Octopus

All,

I have a spreadsheet I use regularly to log and monitor my enquiries.

On said spreadsheet I'm unable to "drag" the numbers down to automatically increment i.e. 1, 2, 3, then highlight all 3 then drag and hey presto I'd normally get 4,5,6,7,8,9, etc etc

Does anyone know what I've done to this specific sheet?

This function works on other sheets on the same spreadsheet and on other files.

Thanks

Odd one that, do you get anything on extending the series or is the option not available (i.e no fill handle)?
If it is just on the one worksheet in a workbook I am not sure unless the sheet is protected but then you would get a warning.
If it applies to the workbook then you may have disabled drag and drop in the tools...options...edit menu.
Normally global effects like that are difficult to apply to one sheet, though I may be well out of date as I am still on 2003.

Lateral thinking implemented!

I created a new sheet within the workbook, and did a copy and paste from the sheet I was having problems with - the outcome is that the "new" sheet will allow the drag facility to increment the numbers!!

Thanks for your help
