Excess bare live conductor at terminations - code?

When wiring is terminated in a shoddy manner at a socket outlet and there is about 6mm of bare conductor exposed at the L and N terminals, what do you code it?
Personally I think a 2 is appropriate as it may give rise to danger - not a 1 as you can't touch it, but certainly more serious than a 4

WDML if this a terminal in a socket. or a light or a CU which in normal use would not have any mechanical stresses like vibration on it why would you deem it is in need of improvement to a degree that it could become dangerous.

Yes a motor or a piece of equipment that moves you could if you felt there was a chance of bare conductors touching due to that movement code it but I would never code it a 2 as you are then most likely to deem the installation unsatisfactory.

If you want to code it then perhaps a 4 for 134.1.1 for workmanship

yes a code 2 requires improvement.your correct on assumtions with the use of codes imo on this.

code 4 maybe then,dont have the reg number to hand but every accessory shall be terminated correctly.

This code is to be used to indicate that the observed deficiency requires action to remove potential danger. Taken from the ESC guide as a reference

We are saying that if the insulation of a conductor as been stripped so far at a screw terminal that there is bare conductor showing, and if this is encased in an enclosure that requires a tool to access it, and there is no influences of vibration or mechanical stress on the cable it is a danger, to who?

Oh, and the installation was unsatisfactory anyway... Someone had changed the BS3036 fusebox for a BS3871 consumer unit - many many moons ago - but didn't bother to do some essentials like extending the CPCs to reach the earth busbar - they were just left in mid air!
Had to sort those on the spot.

Basically the story throughout the house was the original installation was sound, but let down by poor workmanship on the additions and alterations.

Not seen one as bad for a while - but I have got the remedials
