Hello
Was wondering what the professionals thoughts are with regards to moving a fixture and permitted routes. In this particular instance, I have moved a light switch about 15cm so that it's facing the room/door side as opposed to being around a corner. Additionally, the plan is to build a custom bookcase in the recessed area where it was previously.
Given there was an existing cable route/chase for the vertical drop, I was hoping to use this and then just a small horizontal chase across. Coupled with the fact that where the chase is will be covered by the custom bookcase (i.e. no chance someone nails in picture frames/hangs TVs) and I document everything meticulously from a wiring perspective, is this acceptable in a practical sense?
It's not the end of the world to make a new chase vertical from the switch but before I do just wondered if actually necessary.
Thanks in advance
