When installing a p.v system to `older` install what do you do with regards to main protective bonding coductors to incoming services. In my eyes with it been an addition you need to make sure they are up to spec. Speaking to another contractor they just note it on the test sheet that they weren`t in place. Seems a bit naughty or is it just me!

I always think these kind of things are bizarre.

There is some guaranteed work staring someone in the face and they would rather leave something unsafe?

If they are already in place but to previous regs (6mm) AND given the choice customer wouldent pay for upgrade then noting on cert would probably be acceptable.

If there is no equipotential bonding to either water or gas I wouldent proceed unless this bonding was costed in and agreed as part of the job, noting on the cert just doesent cut it and at best you are adding to an already potentially dangerous situation.
Thankfully I have to say I dont see this much as most sparks do upgrade when they carry out major works including bathroom and kitchen works, and nearly all will install bonding if not present, as said its extra work that needs to be done so why wouldent you?
