I think we are all aware that Wylex ( and other electrium brands ) have recently recalled many MCB from the market place due to a fault .

We use Wylex RCBO for many of our domestic installations and are now getting many problems with exploding RCBO . Well maybe "exploding" is a bit strong , but they go wil an allmighty bang .

We have sent 20 back which have been checked and tested , they say we have damaged them using insulation resistance testing which is not true .

Has anyone else had these problem ?

As an electrical contractor we are slightly concerened about the number of boards we are fitting using these products . Going back to them , like with the MCB , would be a horrible task

I've stopped using electrium boards due to the recall & because on 3 seperate boards I've had the casings on the rcd's crack when tightening the terminal screws.
Back to Hager boards for me.

never had that happen with wylex , had it happen with square d loads of time when you fress the test button doesnt half make you jump:D

im using squared at the moment due to contractual requirements all RCBO's ,just hate the curley neutral leads
