Hi,

I know this topic has been discussed before, but ...

Is it a requirement to install an export meter for systems over 30kW? The building to which the system is attached will consume at least 90% of the energy so it may not be worth the extra cost of export metering compared to a small 10% revenue for exporting.

No, it's not compulsory, just that the deemed 50% consumption rule will not apply so no export tariff if will be given

Hi, so for clarity, you do not have to install an export meter over 30kW? So if a customer was to use all of his energy generated it wouldn't be worth having one?

You don't have to have an export meter for over 30kw solar, The figures have to stack up. Export generation v The charges for having half hour meter billing.

i.e. from memory you need to export in the order of 15,000kWh to just break even ......
