Hey folks

Im currently working on a large individual domestic property which is also a new build.

Just wanted to get a few opinions if possible.

The electricity meter and main fuse (PME earth system) are installed in a large outbuilding beside the main house. The outbuilding is to be used as a kind of plant room where there will be a ground source heat pump, rain water pump and few other bits n bobs. The pipework between the plant room and the main house is plastic. The incoming water main to the property is in plastic. No other incoming services.

I want to export the PME earth from the plant room/outbuilding to the main house. I intend to feed the house from an 80amp switch fuse. Ive worked out the loadings and this should be fine.

I cant see any problem with this but would really appreciate others views on this. Mainly on the export of PME in this situation.

Many thanks in advance

Interesting, importing pme as opposed to exporting it.
I think it is important to recognize the MPB associated with pme will be to protect individuals within the property.
You have to ask yourself, will the earthing supplied from the outbuilding protect the individuals within the domestic side under a network fault?

Because a PME system supplied by the DNO who dont really care is a flawed system

Or did you not know that in reality ?

Perhaps youd like a lesson ?

Oh dear, I can't wait for this lesson, maybe it'll give us the figures for the vast amount of deaths from broken PEN conductors?

I hope this is not going to be a cat fight !
There are three ways to go
1/ L-N and provide your own earth,
2/ rely on the imported 3rd core or swa as the main earthing conductor for fault conditions only, since there is not going to be any extraneous parts ....... Would you trust that? I'm not sure that I would.
3/ Import the supply earth to the MET and provide the necessary SPB within the installation
