Hi I was asked to remove a hot water heater connected to a un-switched fused spur and a curtain heater connected same way. from a charity shop. I work for the charity. as a handy-person

I have electrical qualification BS7671 and qualified up to domestic so far, and I know ho my limits to what I can do or not.

To carry on, I removed the hot water heater (using safe isolation.) I removed the full circuit because they wanted the fuse spur for the other shop and the same with the curtain heater.

Because we was giving up this shop we had to have an electrician down to do a periodic inspection report.
The electrician did fit the installation so he knows what there should be.

He noticed that the water heater and heater had been removed, but also another curtain heater had been removed so he inspected this and discover that the cable had just been cut behind the fuse spur and the cables where just shoved behind the wall panel ( could have easily popped out.)

I explained what I removed and told him that some one else would have just left a live cable.
He knew that I was telling the truth but said that he will have to report it (real **** for some one.)

Would it be better for me to report it do you think or try to find out who did it?

what would you do?

You only need to switch the lines and the contactor is rated per pole so for example a 16A four pole contactor would be fine.
