Extending a 6mm cooker point in 2.5 T & E

As the title says. Customer wants 2 extra sockets added in their kitchen and there is a redundant cooker point "available" on a 32A breaker.

Using 2.5mm T & E to add the extra sockets, I'd drop the breaker to a 20A MCB but a mate says no leave it as a 32A.

The extra cable run is 3 or 4 metres.

Somewhere in the deep recess of my mind i thought you had to keep the same size cable all along its length, can't remember for the life of me. Any one else know?

Think your getting things mixed up there. A circuit can change CSA throughout its length....

Update.

He's fitted 1 x 2.5mm T&E and 2 x 2G sockets

32A RCBO remains in place.

Bit confused here are we talking mate as in friend or mate as electricians mate and therefore not qualified or a mate / friend who is a qualified spark

Either way he seems a bit dangerous
