Run 2 2.5mm T&E cables from existing socket in a ring round your new socket(s)

Disconnect 1 cable from existing socket and crimp 1 new cable onto it in backbox. Connect your other new cable into existing socket with other original cable.

Extending a ring main
As per advise given by sintra

Extension to a ring main ( If loading is not an issue )
For more than 1 double socket,
Fit a fused spur at source and add on until your hearts content

You need a specific tool and the crimps I would not recommend the DIY crimper for about a ÂŁ1

What is the actual problem we may have abetter answer for you

Sorry bud but you should'nt use a choc block or junction box under floorboards as it won't be easily accessable in the future, use crimps or wago boxes and when crimping use a heavy duty ratchet crimper not the flimsy one for a couple of quid;)

As above by monkeyelectric the crimper you will need to buy will cost ÂŁ15-ÂŁ30 depending on where you go just make sure its the ratchet type. Google the wago boxes if you are not sure what they are.

Best of luck

is this true just out of interest, i understand not using choc blocks but isnt a junction box okay, ie if you spliced into a ring between two sockets for a spur. i can see the point of view of it not being accessible though. just bringing it up cause i've seen i done plenty in past. not by me of course

They can be used but should'nt be as if there was a fault you can't get to them easily without ripping up carpet an floorboards or even worse laminate flooring, any screw terminal must be accessible, thats why maintenance free joints must be used such as crimps or wago boxes;)
