extending a ring

i have a ring circuit going through the wall to a socket on the other side ie 3 cables in one box what regs are there for extending cable so the spur can be joined to the ring.can i extend in box, crimp and heat shrink? or can i leave it as is?

yes you can extend in the box by box I assume you mean backbox of socket.

you only need heatshrink for uninsulated crimps.

Why do you specificly want to put the spur on the ring?

where is this socket located?

Crimp and heat shink one leg through the wall to the new socket and bring another leg back and conect into the socket thus maintaing the ring is what i would go for myself.

no reason realy,just didn't want to get hot spots from too many cables entering socket?

it is perfectly fine to have 1 spur off each point in the ring including the fuseboard.

However that spur must only feed 1 point without further fusing down.
