Hi guys is there an alternative way of extending a cable surface mounted or otherwise other than a junction box?

Only crimps can be completely hidden, screw terminals must be always accessible. Box with blank plate is normally a winner but depends on environment, construction and utilisation. That's the first time that's come in handy since college!

Not entirely true, soldered and heat shrink is another and more *sniff* "professional" way. :smug2::smug:

.......... and stagger the joints as in post #8 ;)

Do apologise..
Though the day I see an electrician solder and heat shrink a 2.5 t+e I shall eat that big green book!
I suggest they have an extra dsso handily where the end of the cable is just long enough for :p

If you had been here last week you could have watched me solder & heat shrink a 1.5 t+e.

Maybe I'll send you a PM next time I do one & you can come with your big green book to watch ???
