Extending ring mains on top of plaster

Essentially I have a "normal" socket in a ring mains, i.e. one 2.5mm T&E going in and one 2.5mm T&E going out.
I am looking to simply add two more sockets. Easy enough from a wiring perspective.

But my question relates to the location of the wiring itself. The sockets will be cut into a new built-in permanent bookcase/home library, behind which there is a small void. The circuit is RCD protected and so was wondering if I could use cable clips (following proper channels) to attach the extension on top of the plaster (which will be covered by the bookcase)

Now it's not a lot of work to chase out something so simple but would ideally like to avoid the mess and if it is in fact a waste of time and not required.

Clipped direct is perfectly acceptable, even if it’s going to be seen.

If the original socket is going to be hidden afterwards, then I suggest extending the circuit with “maintenance free” connectors such as WAGOs.

Thank you for the speedy response! Have seen them on top of plaster in steel conduit before but guess it's not a common desire to have wires clipped hence there isn't much out there on it

Going to keep the original socket (as much as I love a WAGO), I just always try and reduce the number of connectors where possible.
