Extention

Which cable do I have to use for electrical extention ?

1.5 or 2.5 ?

Hi,

I've made your post into a thread of its own, it was off-topic in the place you posted it.

I'm guessing from the little info that he's built and extension on his house and wants to use a trailing lead....:)

From the title I thought he wanted to make am extension lead ?

A 1.5mm² cable will be sufficient for a normal extension lead, rated up to 13A (the maximum size of a BS1363 plug fuse).
A 2.5mm² cable is too large to safely fit in a normal domestic plug and should not be used in such.

I don't think we will ever know as he is not replying . Maybe tomorrow !

My first guess was he had a lead-sheathed cable and was going to extend it by making a wiped joint.
Lead sheathed cable proves to be a devil to wind back up,on me 30 meter drum....but i'd arm wrestle shrek afterwards:stooge_curly:
